Why vocational trade selection?

Vocational courses, in India, have an entirely different set of requirements and criterions. While in the routine academic paths which are predominantly theory based learning one has to opt for a 3/4/5 year degree course, the vocational education is practical learning oriented and one has to opt for a 3/4/6/12 month certificate course.

Vocational careers have a huge dominance at the bottom of the career pyramid and has an ever increasing demand from industry – by and large for almost all kind of trades. While, every trade has a promising career in the domain, the success in any particular trade depends on the abilities, aptitude, interest and personality of the candidate.

In India we have more than 800 variants of skill trades (certified by NCVT) and as such it becomes really challenging for the applicant to decide on the most appropriate trade for pursuing the vocational / skill development course. In most of the cases, it has been observed that, the students opt for the trade which remains easily accessible for them.

For all such candidates who are keen for undertaking a skill development/vocational training course, this assessment shall be like a light house. It will not only provide the right trade fitment to the students but also assist the skill training companies, Project Implementation Agencies (PIA’s) or the Training Partners (TP’s) in their process of identifying the right candidate for their course from the ultimate objective of providing them with a gainful employment.
